Marriage, also known as Vivah, is one of the most significant and sacred milestones in a person’s life. It marks the transition from Brahmacharyashram to Grihasthashram . This sacred phase signifies that the bride and groom are ready emotionally, socially, and spiritually to begin a new family, a truth acknowledged and celebrated by both family and society.

Vivah is a holy and eternal union. The performance of Vivah Puja during the marriage ceremony serves as a divine invitation to various Gods and Goddesses, requesting their presence and blessings for the couple through sacred rituals. Agni (the sacred fire) stands as the eternal witness (Sakshi) to this union, and the vows taken during the Vivah Puja are lifelong commitments made by the bride and groom to one another.
