Shraddha Karma

The Annual Shradh is a sacred ritual performed to honor and offer prayers for the departed soul. It is performed every year on the same tithi (lunar date) on which the person passed away. When conducted with complete faith, devotion, and a calm mind, the Karta receives the full spiritual benefits of the ritual, and the blessings of the ancestors (Pitru Kripa) continue to protect and guide the family.

The Annual Shradh Puja mainly includes the following steps:

  • Vishwadev Sthapana Pujan: Invocation of all divine energies and ancestors.

  • Pinda Pradan: Sacred rice balls (pinda) prepared with rice, ghee, honey, sugar, milk, and curd are offered to the ancestors with deep devotion.

  • Tarpan: Offering of water mixed with black sesame seeds (til) to satisfy the departed souls.

  • Brahman Bhojan: Feeding a Brahmin is an essential part of the Shradh ceremony, symbolizing the completion of the ritual.

Benefits of Annual Shradh

Performing Shradh brings ancestral blessings that help remove obstacles and support success in life. It also helps reduce the effects of Pitru Dosh, promotes peace within the family, and ensures spiritual well-being and harmony for future generations.
